Dear family and friends. I hope each and every one of you are doing well in these extraordinary times. Most of you know how private I tend to be. You also have an idea of what’s going on in my life, but there are so many moving pieces, so many story lines that interconnect. There’s just so much to say. And I want you to know what’s going on –but I simply don’t have enough hours in the day to pick up the phone and have an in-depth conversation with each of you as much as I would love to. So I created a blog! Basically, I’m telling my story, my experiences, as well as audio, video, and legal documentation that fills in crucial details that are impossible to tell about in conversation, because there’s just so much. So I want to have the conversations with you there, to talk about all of this and try to make sense of what it all means. I’ll be doing all of this as close as possible to real time, so you will have the benefit of understanding what’s going on with me without having to wait and wonder for a detailed phone call after my latest hearing. This blog is my story about: extortion, seduction, indictment, bankruptcy, racial and religious bias, and worst of all, greed holding my children captive. They expected me to fold. To give up. What they have all underestimated is my devotion to my children. I cherish your ongoing love and support. I don’t know where I’d be without you all. So –thank you! I believe having a parent, is a gift. Having a great parent, is a gift and a blessing. I was gifted and blessed to be born to a loving and nurturing parents. My father gifted me with his work ethics; he taught me how to be self-reliance, be resilient, have discipline and do what it takes to get the job done — while my mother taught me to live a value-centered life, a principle-centered life, to be humble and give back. Those values that were instilled in me at such a young age, are the reason I am who I am; a genuine, loving, caring and compassion father, son, brother, friend and relative. With that in mind, it makes me question the whole notion that the unborn child, the soul, chooses his or her parents. If that’s to be remotely true, wouldn’t every child want to be born to great and loving parents? Be gifted with everything that I was fortunate to have? Which brings me to why some choose to have children; for many, it’s the social norm, for others is their partner who wants children -- and for some, it’s that genuine desire to want to love something so selflessly, experience the unconditional love — that in my opinion only exist between child and parent. For me, it was the latter. At thirty years of age, when I laid my eyes on my sweet Sky Maximilian, and held him against my chest, sang to him, began praying and counting my blessings, for the first time I felt what it means to love unconditionally. For the first time ever, I felt I had a purpose in life; to take excellent care of this innocent, pure and beautiful soul, which at seven pounds and thirteen ounces while completely helpless, could literally bring me down to my knees. When at thirty-three years old I was blessed with my second son, my sweet Ford Kingsman, as I held him while the nurses were running his vitals, I began sweet talking to him as he held my finger so tight, and gazed into my eyes as if he understood every-single-word that I was saying, for the first time ever, I understood what my mother meant, when she’d say I love you five all equally. Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing, loving, caring and hard working fathers we are all blessed to have in our lives.
Your beautiful souls and sweet little faces are the reason daddy and all the fishies are hooked on you.⁣ ⁣ ⁣The best part of fishing with my little fishermen? Prepping our catch for dinner. ⁣As seemingly a challenging day as it was, it had to come to an end. As beautiful of a sunset as it was, it too, had to come to an end. The best part? There’s a brand new day, just short few hours away. Good or bad, nothing is permanent. Which brings me to this point: “is there such a thing as misfortune?” It all depends on your prospective. However, if you too, believe that everything is unfolding as it was intended, then there’s nothing but good fortune — and as the events unfold, you won’t attempt to make sense out of it; you too, will take the role of an observer and watch it as it unfolds. 6pm was highlight of my day. I’d come home to only be greeted by my sweetest little boys. On one hand, I’d see Sky running on gravel barefoot saying “That’s. My. Daddy”. On the other hand, Ford’s hands up in the air saying “Baba” wanting to be picked up. Since Ford was little, I’d put him on my shoulders and walk around. He’d play with my ears for hours without making a noise. It was so soothing to him — and if I’d move away, he’d get bent out of shape. By the time he was two, Ford would say “daddy head” or “daddy ear” to put him on my shoulders.
